Nous Sommes Arrivés

Well, we made it!  On our way north, we stopped in Montréal to pay a brief visit to St. Joseph's Oratory and its recently canonized founder, Saint Brother André.

And then it was back on the road again toward Québec City.  We arrived late in the afternoon to settle into our hotel, which is just outside of the citadel and has some really great views.

(Although--as you can see--the windows could be a little bit cleaner!)

And then if was off to a lovely dinner in what claims to be the city's oldest standing structure, dating all the way back to 1675.

It's pretty neat to eat in a place that was built during the lifetime of my ancestor Toussaint (1633-1715), the first Giroux on the continent, who settled here in Québec around 1650.

And now, to bed...
